In chess, you need to know exactly what each piece on the board does in order to properly strategize your victory. Each piece has its strengths and weaknesses. However, together they complement each other and become a force to be reckoned with. One piece’s weakness is the other’s strength. To strategize a hostile takeover of enemy territory for the Kingdom of God, we must know the power we operate with and what each piece has to offer. Yet, in chess, the one thing that binds the pieces together is their color and mission. As Christians, we must know what the mission is and who we are supposed execute it with. Understanding our position and how we move is just as critical. The enemy knows you better than you think, and he is counting on you going it alone. He is a savvy opponent and he will have the victory if you do not know the rules of the game. In Christ, we have the victory. However, there is a difference between saying that and acting upon it. Understand the enemy’s movement and adjusting yourself accordingly to the Bible and the Leading of the Holy Spirit. Defend when you must, but be the first one to attack! Our weapons of warfare are more powerful! We can stop the attack from coming if we make the first move. This will lead to our inevitable victory. It is all about moves and countering.
“the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses.” 1 Corinthians 10:4 NASB
